DG Shipping Advises All Indian Seafarers In Iranian Ports To Exercise Caution

The Directorate General of Shipping issued an advisory for all the Indian seafarers and Indian-flagged ships in Iranian ports or crossing through the Strait of Hormuz to be cautious, after Israel attacked Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also advised seafarers to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement, and adhere to local safety protocols and other regulations for their own safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

RPSL agencies, shipping companies and maritime stakeholders were also requested to regularly oversee the safety of the crew members and ships and to stay up to date via official channels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Per international reports, Israel has also carried out strikes at several places in Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n

MEA said in a statement that they are deeply concerned about the latest conflict between Israel and Iran and are monitoring the situation closely, including reports about attacks on nuclear sites.<\/span><\/p>\n

India has requested that both sides avoid any escalatory steps. MEA also said that existing channels of dialogue and diplomacy should be used to de-escalate the situation and solve the underlying issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

India has said that it enjoys a close and friendly relationship with both countries and is ready to extend all the support possible.<\/span><\/p>\n
