German Ship Delivers First Wind Power Cargo To Vietnam\u2019s Emerging Super Port

Trung Nam Ca Na International Seaport in Ninh Thuan province received its first-ever shipment of wind power equipment on June 25.<\/p>\n

The ship, ESHIP 1, a German-flagged vessel, docked at the port in Thuan Nam district, carrying thousands of tonnes of equipment including 51 wind turbine blades and 204 auxiliary components manufactured by Germany\u2019s Enercon Group.<\/p>\n

The vessel had departed from Sines Port in Portugal and transported the cargo specifically for ongoing and upcoming energy projects in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

According to the port\u2019s management board, this is the first time Enercon has shipped wind power equipment to its partners and projects via Trung Nam Ca Na Port.<\/p>\n

The cargo will be unloaded and transported to construction sites for large-scale energy projects through SMC Services and Engineering Joint Stock Company (SMC).<\/p>\n

SMC specialises in offering complete logistics and structural solutions for heavy industry, energy, and transport infrastructure sectors, especially for oversized and overweight cargo.<\/p>\n

Officials explained that the arrival of this wind power shipment shows Trung Nam Ca Na Port\u2019s infrastructure capability and sets the groundwork for future investments and expansions.<\/p>\n

The port is currently undergoing Phase 2 of the Ca Na terminal project to boost capacity for handling ultra-heavy and oversized cargo. The project comes with a total investment of VND 5.6 trillion (approximately USD 214.1 million).<\/p>\n

Vietnam\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed the development of two inter-regional renewable energy industrial and service hubs, and Ninh Thuan has been identified as one of the locations.<\/p>\n

Trung Nam Ca Na Port is set to be upgraded to handle offshore wind power equipment weighing up to 15,000 tonnes.<\/p>\n
