Crowley vessels recognized for commitment to safety with Jones F. Devlin Awards

The Chamber of Shipping of America has recognized 57 Crowley-owned or -managed vessels with its Jones F. Devlin Safety Awards<\/a>, honoring the achievements and hard work of crews that together completed a total of 478 years without a lost time injury.<\/p>\n The Jones F. Devlin Safety Award honors the exceptional commitment of people and companies responsible for long-term operational safety, recognizing vessels that have operated for at least two consecutive years without a crew member losing time due to injury. Awarded vessels serve across the globe, including tugs, barges, commercial container ships and tank vessels, including articulated tug-barges and government-managed vessels.<\/p>\n At the same ceremony, the crew of tug Guard,<\/em> a Crowley-owned vessel, and the Potomac Express<\/em>, a Crowley-managed containership, were also recognized with the Ship Safety Achievement Award for their bravery in performing outstanding feats of safety.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are honored that the Chamber of Shipping for America has recognized 57 Crowley vessels and their crews for their outstanding professionalism and unwavering commitment to safety,\u201d said Peter Sutton, vice president of safety, quality and environment for Crowley Shipping. \u201cSafety is at the core of everything we do, and this recognition highlights the dedication our mariners demonstrate every day. Congratulations to our mariners on this well-deserved honor.\u201d<\/p>\n Also honored with the Devlin Safety Awards for 53 accumulated accident-free years were seven Fairwater-owned or -operated vessels.
