But here\u2019s an anecdotal story about my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.costadelmar.com\/en-us\/sunglasses\/6S9056-97963556712\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Costa Del Mar Whitetip frames<\/a> that has nothing to do with fishing, boating or anything on the water.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I have a pair of Whitetips with prescription 580 lenses housed in retro tortoise frames that I wear pretty much any time I\u2019m outside, including my daughter\u2019s lacrosse games. Recently, I took a hit from an errant lacrosse ball\u2013a five-ounce sphere of vulcanized rubber that, if it hits you at high velocity, really hurts. I can report that the hit fractured the bridge of my nose in two places but the lenses and frames came away completely unscathed. Not a scratch, crack or anything. So, I can vouch that, among other things, the Costa Whitetips are definitely impact resistant.
