{"id":14502,"date":"2025-08-05T20:02:44","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:02:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=14502"},"modified":"2025-08-05T20:02:44","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:02:44","slug":"windward-offshore-wins-its-first-csov-contracts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=14502","title":{"rendered":"Windward Offshore wins its first CSOV contracts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Windward Offshore wins its first CSOV contracts<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hamburg-headquartered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/offshore\/offshore-wind\/new-windward-offshore-consortium-orders-22-csovs\/\">Windward Offshore <\/a>reports that it has won its first charter contracts for the two purpose-built Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs), <em>Windward Athens<\/em> and <em>Windward Paris.<\/em> For this project, the vessels will be deployed specifically to support operations and maintenance (O&amp;M) activities.<\/p>\n<p>The agreements were finalized last month with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=%22North+Star%22\">Aberdeen-headquartered North Star<\/a> and will see the two companies partner to jointly support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rwe.com\/en\/the-group\/countries-and-locations\/\">RWE<\/a>\u2019s offshore wind operations in the United Kingdom and Germany. The Windward Athens will commence service in winter 2025 within RWE\u2019s German offshore wind farms, located north of the island of Helgoland, while the <em>Windward Paris<\/em> is scheduled to begin operations in summer 2026 at the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm off the British coast.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignleft is-type-wp-embed is-provider-marine-log wp-block-embed-marine-log\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"YpdgapNOh7\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/offshore\/offshore-wind\/new-windward-offshore-consortium-orders-22-csovs\/\">New Windward Offshore consortium orders 2+2 CSOVs<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"\u201cNew Windward Offshore consortium orders 2+2 CSOVs\u201d \u2014 Marine Log\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/offshore\/offshore-wind\/new-windward-offshore-consortium-orders-22-csovs\/embed\/#?secret=slQJZG1KqD#?secret=YpdgapNOh7\" data-secret=\"YpdgapNOh7\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Built at Vard\u2019s shipyards in Romania and Norway, the vessels represent the latest generation of CSOVs, equipped with ultra-low-emission technologies, battery hybrid systems and smart automation to reduce environmental impact. Each vessel is fitted with an Ampelmann W-Type walk-to-work gangway, 7 tonne motion-compensated 3D- crane and accommodations for up to 120 personnel, ensuring safe and efficient offshore logistics even under challenging weather conditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese first charter agreements for Windward are a fantastic proof that the industry honors Windward\u2019s forward-thinking service approach and our commitment to supporting the growing offshore wind sector through strong partnerships,\u201d said Dr. Benjamin Vordemfelde, managing director of Windward Offshore. \u201cTogether with North Star and RWE, we are laying the groundwork for safe, reliable, and sustainable offshore operations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the award of two long-term CSOV charters with RWE for the <em>Grampian Eagle <\/em>and the <em>Grampian Kestrel, <\/em>we\u2019re pleased to be working with Windward Offshore, who will provide two vessels to front-run operations until our ships are available by the end of 2026,\u201d said North Star CEO Gitte Gard Talmo. \u201cThis interim solution is a strong example of cross-industry collaboration, ensuring continuity and a shared focus on safe, efficient, and future-ready offshore operations.
