{"id":17233,"date":"2025-09-22T20:02:59","date_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:02:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=17233"},"modified":"2025-09-22T20:02:59","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T20:02:59","slug":"judge-grants-injunction-allowing-revolution-wind-to-resume-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=17233","title":{"rendered":"Judge grants injunction allowing Revolution Wind to resume construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Judge grants injunction allowing Revolution Wind to resume construction<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia today granted the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/uncategorized\/revolution-wind-and-two-states-file-law-suits-challenging-stop-work-order\/\"> preliminary injunction sought by \u00d8rsted\u2019s Revolution Wind <\/a>regarding the BOEM stop-work order imposed in August.<\/p>\n<p>The injunction allows Revolution Wind, LLC to restart impacted activities while the underlying lawsuit challenging the stop-work order progresses.<\/p>\n<p>Revolution Wind says that it will continue to seek to work collaboratively with the U.S. Administration and other stakeholders toward a prompt resolution.<\/p>\n<p>It adds that it will resume impacted construction work as soon as possible, with safety as the top priority.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d8rsted\u2019s subsidiary Revolution Wind, a 50\/50 joint venture with Global Infrastructure Partners\u2019 Skyborn Renewables, is constructing the Revolution Wind offshore wind project. \u202f<\/p>\n<p>Reuters reports that U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth issued the preliminary injunction after a two-hour hearing and that Lamberth, a senior judge appointed by Republican President Ronald Reagan, said the Trump administration had offered contradictory reasons for issuing its stop work order, and that the explanations offered weeks after the halt were \u201cthe height of arbitrary and capricious\u201d government conduct.<\/p>\n<p>According to Reuters, he also said Revolution Wind had reasonably relied on government assurances that were withdrawn without due process, imperiling a $5 billion investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s ruling allowing Revolution Wind to resume work is extremely encouraging for workers and our energy future,\u201d said Connecticut Gov.
