The station&#8217;s watchstanders issued an alert to nearby shipping and sent an AMVER request for assistance from merchant vessels. The fruit juice tanker <em>Orange Ocean<\/em> diverted to the scene and arrived shortly after.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On arrival, <em>Orange Ocean&#8217;s<\/em> crew reported that a sailing vessel was on fire and at risk of sinking. They launched their rescue boat and retrieved the yachtsman, who was in good health.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.maritime-executive.com\/media\/images\/article\/Photos\/Wreckage_Salvage\/Orange-Ocean-rescue-1.webp?ssl=1\" style=\"width:1000px\"><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.maritime-executive.com\/media\/images\/article\/Photos\/Places\/Orange-Ocean-rescue-2.webp?ssl=1\" style=\"width:1000px\"><\/p>\n<p><em>Courtesy Orange Ocean crew \/ USCG<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The yacht was the 46-foot monohull sailing vessel <em>Poesterd<\/em>, flagged in Poland.
