{"id":18577,"date":"2025-10-15T20:02:38","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T20:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=18577"},"modified":"2025-10-15T20:02:38","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T20:02:38","slug":"hanwha-ocean-u-s-subsidiaries-hit-by-chinese-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=18577","title":{"rendered":"Hanwha Ocean U.S. subsidiaries hit by Chinese sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Hanwha Ocean U.S. subsidiaries hit by Chinese sanctions<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Five U.S. subsidiaries of Korea\u2019s Hanwha Ocean, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/shipbuilding\/shipyards\/shipyard-news\/video-hanwha-group-makes-5bn-announcement-at-philly-shipyard\/\">Hanwha Philly Shipyard,<\/a> have been sanctioned by China as part of its response to the U.S. port fees on Chinese owned and built ships imposed under the Section 301 targeted action announced by U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/legal\/regulations\/ustr-reveals-fee-scales-timing-for-section-301-action-on-china\/'\">back in April.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Those fees started to be charged Tuesday as did tit-for-tat fees imposed by China on U.S. owned (or part-owned) ships, with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xindemarinenews.com\/en\/regulations\/2025\/1015\/61691.htm\">Matson vessel reportedly already slapped with a $627,943 fee <\/a>on docking in Ningbo.<\/p>\n<p>Now Hanwha Ocean\u2019s U.S. units have been dragged in.
