{"id":18825,"date":"2025-10-20T20:02:48","date_gmt":"2025-10-20T20:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=18825"},"modified":"2025-10-20T20:02:48","modified_gmt":"2025-10-20T20:02:48","slug":"new-abu-dhabi-ferry-duo-jazirat-dalma-and-al-dhanna-enter-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=18825","title":{"rendered":"New Abu Dhabi ferry duo Jazirat Dalma and Al Dhanna enter service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    New Abu Dhabi ferry duo Jazirat Dalma and Al Dhanna enter service<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Two new aluminum high-speed RoPax ferries, <em>Jazirat Dalma <\/em>and <em>Al Dhanna<\/em>h. designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=Incat+Crowther\">Incat Crowther <\/a>for Abu Dhabi\u2019s Integrated Transport Center <a href=\"https:\/\/admobility.gov.ae\/\">(ITC<\/a>) have successfully completed sea trials and are now operating on a 42-kilometer route between Dalma Island and Jebel Dhannah on the UAE mainland.<\/p>\n<p>The 56-meter <em>Jazirat Dalma <\/em>and <em>Al Dhannah,<\/em> built by Singapore-based Penguin International Limited at its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penguin.com.sg\/our-shipyards\/pt-kim-seah-shipyard-indonesia\/\">Batam, Indonesia, shipyard <\/a>can each transport up to 192 passengers and 25 vehicles at speeds of up to 39 knots. Each vessel has a spacious, air-conditioned passenger deck that provides comfortable seating for 185 passengers, space for an additional seven wheelchair passengers and two large viewing areas at the bow and stern.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead.jpg?resize=700%2C525&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Jazirat Dalma and Al Dhannah are built to samecdesignb\" class=\"wp-image-104004\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead-209x157.jpg 209w, https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead-320x240.jpg 320w, https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/abuaoverhead-640x480.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Photo: Incat Crowther<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With sleek catamaran hulls,<em> Jazirat Dalma<\/em> and <em>Al Dhannah <\/em>offer speed, stability and efficiency, and have been designed with comfort and accessibility in mind. Each vessel features a VIP room for eight passengers, two caf\u00e9s, five bathrooms, and a playroom for children.<\/p>\n<p>Ample luggage and cargo spaces have also been included throughout both the passenger and vehicle decks, which are connected via an onboard elevator.<\/p>\n<p>Each vessel is powered by four MTU engines and propelled by Kamewa waterjets and have been designed specifically for extreme temperatures and sandy conditions in the Arabian Gulf.<\/p>\n<p>The  vehicle deck has been designed for operational efficiency and allows for quick roll-on and roll-off operations. The elevated wheelhouse provides each vessel\u2019s captain with excellent lines of sight while the bridge deck also features a crew mess and bathrooms for the vessel\u2019s ten crew.<\/p>\n<p>Ed Dudson, Incat Crowther\u2019s managing director, Europe said, \u201cThe successful entry into service of <em>Jazirat Dalma <\/em>and <em>Al Dhannah<\/em> is testament to the strong collaboration that defined this project.
