With dedicated federal funding secured,\u00a0the\u00a0RTA\u00a0is now moving forward with a full modernization of the terminal to improve accessibility, enhance rider amenities, and create a more welcoming, functional space for the Algiers community.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation of the Algiers Ferry Terminal and maintenance building represents an $11.4 million investment, supported by:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Federal Transit Administration funding<\/li>\n<li>Federal Highway Administration ferry funds flexed to FTA<\/li>\n<li>Local match provided by the\u00a0RTA<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cThis groundbreaking marks a continuous step in\u00a0RTA\u2019s investment into modern transit infrastructure that will also strengthen connectivity for Algiers and the region,\u201d\u00a0said Lona Edwards Hankins, CEO of the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority<em>.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cThis project reflects our commitment to delivering\u00a0a World Class Rider\u00a0Experience, Innovation and Regional Connectivity.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img-1709_crop.jpeg?resize=560%2C315&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-105101\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img-1709_crop.jpeg 560w, https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/img-1709_crop-300x169.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The renovation will deliver a redesigned accessible boarding ramp, improvements to the pedestrian bridge, a full interior upgrade, and a new second-floor office level.
