Cellus, a cargo ship, ran aground at the entrance to a harbour.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It had sailed from Br\u00fcnsbuttel in Germany and came to a halt after it came to the Port of Sunderland. It blocked the entrance to the facility and also the River Wear on Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tugs from Tees and Tyne were sent to refloat the ship, which was carrying paper products.<\/span><\/p>\n

It later berthed at Greenwell\u2019s Quay in the port.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fortunately, there were no reports of pollution and no injuries to the crew members or port officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Port of Sunderland is a major facility on the North Sea, positioned on the River Wear. <\/span><\/p>\n

It provides deep-water access and can handle large vessels carrying diverse cargo such as bulk, forest products, project cargo, steel, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

It also offers round-the-clock services, including warehousing, heavy-lift cranes, and Enterprise Zone sites for businesses in the energy sector, manufacturing and shipping.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cellus is sailing under the German flag.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The 100 m long vessel was built in 1998 and is known for shipping paper products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
