Crew Member Burns To Death After Fire Erupts In Engine Room Of Tourist Ship

A crew member was burnt to death when fire broke out in the engine room of the tourist vessel, \u2018Atlantic Cruise\u2019.<\/p>\n

The ship was going to Saint Martin\u2019s Island from Cox\u2019s Bazar, Bangladesh, on the morning of December 27, 2025.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, 200 tourists waiting to board the vessel narrowly escaped death as the incident happened before anyone set foot on the ship.<\/p>\n

Sadly, Nur Kamal, a 35-year old crew member who had gone to sleep after his night shift, lost his life when the ship was engulfed in flames around 7:00 am as it was berthing at the Nuniachhara jetty.<\/p>\n

Units of the Fire Service and the Coast Guard arrived at the scene and tried to extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n

Later, they discovered the burnt body of the man from his cabin. He was sleeping when the fire burned him.<\/p>\n

Hossain Islam Bahadur, general secretary of the Sea Cruise Owners Association, said that the few tourists were taken to Saint Martin\u2019s Island on another vessel, and those who remained would take the trip on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mohammad Ismail, an officer of the ship, said the fire might have been caused by an electrical short circuit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
