Saab launches second Polish SIGINT \u201cspy ship\u201d

Poland\u2019s second SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) ship from Saab, ORP Henryk Zygalski,<\/em> was launched in Gda\u0144sk, Poland, today.<\/p>\n ORP Henryk Zygalski <\/em>is the second of the two SIGINT \u201cspy ships\u201d being built under Poland\u2019s DELFIN program.<\/p>\n The vessels are being built by Saab as the prime contractor. Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. is subcontracted to construct the ships, with Polish company MMC supporting Saab with design work. Saab is fully responsible for supplying and integrating the advanced mission systems. Other entities within the Polish defense industry are also involved in the implementation of the project.<\/p>\n The first Delfin program ship ORP Jerzy R\u00f3\u017cycki,<\/em> was launched July 1, 2025. Before entering service, both ships will be equipped with the necessary reconnaissance systems and will undergo sea trials.<\/p>\n Ship-based electronic intelligence systems will enable the acquisition of intelligence data across the entire spectrum of maritime electronic intelligence \u2014 hence the \u201cspy ship\u201d label.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are pleased to see the second Polish SIGINT ship successfully launched today,\u201d said Mats Wicksell, head of Saab\u2019s business area Kockums. \u201cWith this important project we are strengthening cooperation between Swedish and Polish industries in support of European security in the Baltic Sea region.\u201d<\/p>\n Deliveries of the ships, once the next phase of onboard installation work and sea trials are completed, are planned for 2027 and 2028.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n The post Saab launches second Polish SIGINT \u201cspy ship\u201d<\/a> appeared first on Marine Log<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
