Succeeding him as vice chairman is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=Garrett+Rice%2C\">Garrett Rice,<\/a> president of Master Boat Builders, who has served on the SCA board of since 2014,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt this moment of renewed focus on America\u2019s maritime strength, our industry stands ready to meet the growing demand for ships that are critical to support our economy and national security,\u201d said Carver. \u201cWorking hand in hand with U.S. yards and our industrial base partners, we have an incredible opportunity to modernize our fleet, strengthen our workforce, and ensure that American shipbuilding continues to lead the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Shipbuilders Council of America is the leading advocate for the shipbuilding and ship repair industry and the men and women who power it, from the largest builders to proven small and mid-sized yards,\u201d said Rice. \u201cI am honored to serve as vice chairman at a pivotal time. This is a moment to translate national attention into long-term industrial strength across America\u2019s shipyards and suppliers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carver and Rice will serve alongside board of directors secretary Caitlin Sause, vice president of government and public affairs at SOMAR, Inc. and SCA treasurer Ashley Godwin, corporate director of strategy and budget analysis at Huntington Ingalls.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSCA\u2019s board leadership brings unmatched experience and dedication to their new leadership roles, and no one is better suited to guide the Shipbuilders Council of America at this pivotal time,\u201d said Matthew Paxton, president of the SCA. \u201cOn behalf of our entire membership, we extend our deepest gratitude to outgoing chairman Brad Moyer for his years of service on our board and commitment to growing and advancing the U.S. shipbuilding and ship repair industry.
