{"id":24046,"date":"2026-01-28T20:02:37","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=24046"},"modified":"2026-01-28T20:02:37","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:02:37","slug":"judge-rules-vineyard-wind-can-resume-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=24046","title":{"rendered":"Judge rules Vineyard Wind can resume activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Judge rules Vineyard Wind can resume activities<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts today issued a decision to allow Vineyard Wind to resume full activities in its lease area on the Outer Continental Shelf.<\/p>\n<p>This means that four of the five offshore wind projects <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/news\/trump-administration-cites-radar-clutter-in-putting-new-pause-on-offshore-wind-projects\/\">paused by the Trump administration on Dec. 22, <\/a>2025, citing \u201cnational security risks identified by the Department of War in recently completed classified reports,\u201d have now won court orders allowing them to resume constructon<\/p>\n<p>On January 15, 2026, Vineyard Wind filed a legal challenge to Dec 22 =issued by the U.S. Department of the Interior\u2019s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) on December 22, 2025. It says today\u2019s court decision stays BOEM\u2019s suspension order.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the legal process proceeds, Vineyard Wind will continue to work with the Administration to understand the matters raised in the order,\u201d says the company, which is owned 50% by funds of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and 50% by Avangrid Renewables, LLC. \u201cVineyard Wind will focus on working in coordination with its contractors, the federal government, and other relevant stakeholders and authorities to safely restart activities, as it continues to deliver a critical source of new power to the New England region.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The <em>New York Times <\/em>reports that J<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2026\/01\/27\/climate\/judge-offshore-wind-vineyard-massachusetts.html?searchResultPosition=1'''\">udge Brian E. Murphy said he was unpersuaded by the government\u2019s claims a<\/a>bout national security \u2014 which apparently related to \u201cradar clutter\u201d after reviewing the classified report under seal.
