A.P. Moller \u2013 Maersk (Maersk) has placed an order for eight large containerships with China\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncship.com.cn\/English\/\">New Times Shipbuilding Co. Ltd<\/a>. All eight will have the same characteristics and make up a new series of 18,600 TEU vessels with deliveries in 2029 and 2030. The order is part of our ongoing fleet renewal and helps maintain our fleet\u2019s competitive edge,\u201d said Anda Cristescu, head of chartering &amp; newbuilding at Maersk \u201cDeployment flexibility has been a key factor in our decision-making. Although these vessels are large, they offer greater flexibility than the largest ships currently being built in our industry.
