DP World will retain a 62.5% majority shareholding and continue to operate the terminal.<\/p>\n
The agreement formalises closer cooperation between the two companies at one of Saudi Arabia\u2019s main trade gateways.<\/p>\n
The partners said the move will support Jeddah Islamic Port\u2019s position as a key Red Sea hub linking trade flows between Asia, Europe and Africa.<\/p>\n
DP World secured a 30-year Build-Operate-Transfer concession for the Southern Container Terminal in 2019.<\/p>\n
Since then, the company has carried out a major upgrade and expansion programme, increasing capacity, improving operational efficiency and enhancing sustainability standards.<\/p>\n
Additionally, both DP World and Maersk have invested in integrated logistics capabilities within the port.<\/p>\n
These investments connect the quay with warehousing, distribution and inland transport services, enabling more streamlined cargo handling and stronger supply chain connectivity for import and export customers.<\/p>\n
Yuvraj Narayan, Chief Executive Officer of DP World, said Saudi Arabia remains a strategic market for the company and noted that Jeddah Islamic Port has played a key role in its growth in the Kingdom for more than two decades.<\/p>\n
He stated that since securing the concession in 2019, DP World has modernised the Southern Container Terminal into a high-capacity gateway.<\/p>\n
