{"id":3489,"date":"2025-01-17T20:05:20","date_gmt":"2025-01-17T20:05:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=3489"},"modified":"2025-01-17T20:05:20","modified_gmt":"2025-01-17T20:05:20","slug":"port-houston-gets-25m-hydrogen-refueling-station-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=3489","title":{"rendered":"Port Houston gets $25M hydrogen refueling station grant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Port Houston gets $25M hydrogen refueling station grant<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Hydrogen fueling is coming to the Port of Houston, but at this stage of the game it\u2019s for trucks, not ships \u2013 even though hydrogen is a leading candidate as one of shipping\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=%22hydrogen+as+a+marine+fuel%22\"> new clean, green fuels,<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Port of Houston Authority reports that the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have awarded it nearly $25 million that will be used to construct and operate a hydrogen fueling station for heavy-duty trucks.<\/p>\n<p>The funding has been awarded as part of a public-private collaboration between Port Houston and industrial gases company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linde.com\/\">Linde In<\/a>c., with additional partners GTI Energy, Argonne National Laboratory, and Center for Houston\u2019s Future. This award.<\/p>\n<p>The project, Bayport HRS, will result in an innovative pipeline-based Hydrogen Refueling Station (HRS), which will offer high fueling throughput with convenient and publicly accessible fueling options, further enabling supply chain development in Texas and the Gulf-Coast region. Linde will design, construct, own and operate the new facility, creating a cost-effective heavy-duty (HD) truck hydrogen fueling station in Bayport, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The project supports the port\u2019s Sustainability Action Plan and ambitious goal of net-zero emissions by 2050.
