With a battery life that can last for weeks, the inReach Messenger Plus provides global coverage via the Iridium satellite network. In the event of an \u00ademergency, the Messenger Plus and the \u00adMessenger app can send an interactive SOS text message to Garmin Response, a 24\/7-staffed international emergency assistance coordination center. Photo and voice messages can also be shared during an SOS, giving response coordinators the ability to see and hear details of the emergency firsthand. The device needs a unobstructed view of the sky for effective satellite \u00adcommunication.<\/p>\n<p>The inReach Messenger Plus carries an MSRP of $499.99, and it requires an active satellite subscription to communicate, with plans starting at $14.99 per month.
