{"id":4250,"date":"2025-02-03T20:00:33","date_gmt":"2025-02-03T20:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=4250"},"modified":"2025-02-03T20:00:33","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T20:00:33","slug":"video-rmk-marine-launches-neoline-origin-wind-powered-ro-ro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=4250","title":{"rendered":"VIDEO: RMK Marine launches Neoline Origin wind powered RO\/RO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    VIDEO: RMK Marine launches Neoline Origin wind powered RO\/RO<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Turkish shipbuilder RMK Marine has now launched <em>Neoline Origin<\/em>, the primarily-wind powered RO\/RO ordered at the shipyard by Nantes, France, based Neoline in January 2023 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/technology\/neoline-places-order-for-its-first-wind-powered-ro-ro\/\">see earlier story<\/a>).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignleft is-type-wp-embed is-provider-marine-log wp-block-embed-marine-log\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"Y11c8if7Ft\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/technology\/neoline-places-order-for-its-first-wind-powered-ro-ro\/\">Neoline places order for its first wind-powered RO\/RO<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" title=\"\u201cNeoline places order for its first wind-powered RO\/RO\u201d \u2014 Marine Log\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/technology\/neoline-places-order-for-its-first-wind-powered-ro-ro\/embed\/#?secret=yf7zsMdZF7#?secret=Y11c8if7Ft\" data-secret=\"Y11c8if7Ft\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The 136 meter long Neoliner will offer 1,200 lane meters (2.8 meters wide) of RO\/RO capacity (equivalent to 321 cars), or 265 TEU, for a maximum weight of 5,300 tons of goods.<\/p>\n<p>Promising fuel reductions of up to 80%, <em>Neoline Origin <\/em>will use the same Chantiers de l\u2019Atlantique SolidSail wind propulsion technology as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.orient-express.com\/high-life\/orient-express-silenseas-the-legendary-train-heads-out-to-sea-as-the-worlds-largest-sailing-ship-is-unveiled\/\">Orient Express Silenseas cruise yacht<\/a>s. In the case of the Neoliner, the SolidSails will be mounted on two 76-meter-high folding carbon masts and will have a sail area of 3,000 square meters. <\/p>\n<p>For port maneuvers, and when needed to maintain on-time service, the vessel will also be equipped with an auxiliary engine.
