{"id":5500,"date":"2025-02-28T20:04:27","date_gmt":"2025-02-28T20:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=5500"},"modified":"2025-02-28T20:04:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-28T20:04:27","slug":"japan-marine-united-and-bmt-win-contract-for-japans-next-gen-landing-craft","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=5500","title":{"rendered":"Japan Marine United and BMT win contract for Japan\u2019s next-gen landing craft"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Japan Marine United and BMT win contract for Japan\u2019s next-gen landing craft<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Japan Marine United (JMU) and BMT report that they have been contracted by Japan\u2019s Acquisition, Technology &amp; Logistics Agency (ATLA) to design and build the next-generation high speed landing craft, the Caimen Japan, for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mod.go.jp\/en\/\">Japan Self Defense Force.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The partnershp between BMT and JMU is seen as a significant collaborative effort between Japan and the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>The design for the Caimen landing craft design will be provided by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=%22BMT%22\">BMT team in the U.K.<\/a>, and the production design and construction of the vessels carried out at <a href=\"ttps:\/\/www.jmuc.co.jp\/en\/\">JMU\u2019s facilities in Japan.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Designed to deliver significant operational advantages over existing models, the aluminum-hulled, 30-meter long landing craft will have a highly efficient tri-bow hull form, resulting , says BMT, in outstanding seakeeping, performance, and beaching capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Capable of speeds of over 20 knots, the vessel will have extensive vehicle and troop-carrying capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to announce the strategic partnership with BMT, which will see our company meet the procurement programs of the Japan Ministry of Defense,\u201d said JMU director and senior managing officer Akinori Takeno.
