{"id":7247,"date":"2025-04-07T20:04:05","date_gmt":"2025-04-07T20:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=7247"},"modified":"2025-04-07T20:04:05","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T20:04:05","slug":"carnival-orders-two-new-aida-cruises-ships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krogragg.com\/?p=7247","title":{"rendered":"Carnival orders two new AIDA Cruises ships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>    Carnival orders two new AIDA Cruises ships<br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><br \/>\n    <!-- no image --><br \/>\n \t<BR><br \/>\n<BR><\/BR><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Carnival Corporation &amp; plc (NYSE\/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK), the world\u2019s largest cruise company, reports that it has finalized an order with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fincantieri.com\/en\/products-and-services\/cruise-ships\/\"> Fincantieri <\/a>for two new ships for its German brand, AIDA Cruises, for a new class of mid-sized vessel. The agreement with Fincantieri provides for the design, engineering, and construction of these multi-fuel-capable ships, which will be delivered in the first quarter of fiscal years 2030 and 2032, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith approximately 2,100 cabins each, these remarkable new ships give our guests a completely new class of ship which slot in perfectly between our 1,600 cabin Hyperion Class vessels and our more than 2,600 cabin Helios Class vessels,\u201d said Felix Eichhorn, president of AIDA Cruises. \u201cOur next generation of ships will delight our guests with amazing new features and experiences that we will reveal over time. Its innovative technology, with multi-fuel propulsion systems including LNG, will future proof our operations into the coming decades.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eichorn said that once the second of the two new ships ship is delivered, AIDA will have a total of 13 ships in its fleet, further expanding its leadership position in the German cruise market.<\/p>\n<p>Just two months ago, AIDA launched the largest fleet modernization program in its history as part of AIDA Evolution, with <em>AIDAdiva <\/em>undergoing a comprehensive modernization in Marseille from which has just returned to service. <em>AIDAluna<\/em> and <em>AIDAbella<\/em> will follow in fall 2025 and spring 2026, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe introduction of these next-generation ships, when combined with the AIDA Evolution program modernizing much of the existing fleet\u2019s d\u00e9cor, features and technologies, will drive even more demand for our AIDA brand, which is synonymous with cruising in Germany,\u201d said J<a href=\"https:\/\/www.marinelog.com\/?s=%22Josh+Weinstein%22\">osh Weinstein<\/a>, chief executive officer of Carnival Corporation &amp; plc.<\/p>\n<p>According to Weinstein, with today\u2019s order, Carnival Corporation\u2019s newbuild pipeline includes eight new ships scheduled to enter service between now and 2033, including <em>Star Princess <\/em>this year and one vessel each year from 2027 to 2033.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re maintaining our disciplined approach to growth and strategically directing new capacity to the highest-performing brands in our world-class portfolio like AIDA Cruises and its sister brand Carnival Cruise Line, which now account for seven of our eight ships on order,\u201d he said. \u201cThis growth plan will maximize our returns and allow us to use our strong free cash flow to continue lowering our debt balance and transferring value from debt holders back to shareholders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are honored that our long-standing partner Carnival Corporation has selected Fincantieri to build ships for AIDA Cruises for the first time in our history,\u201d said Fincantieri CEO Pierroberto Folgiero. \u201cThis milestone confirms our ability to serve the entire Carnival Corporation portfolio, while ensuring long-term term visibility for our shipyards.
