The U.K sent fighter jets to intercept a Russian reconnaissance aircraft hovering close to the former\u2019s airspace, per the Defense Ministry.<\/p>\n

The two Typhoon jets shadowed the Russian Bear-F aircraft when it flew over the North Sea.<\/p>\n

While the Royal Air Force tracked the Russian Jet, the Royal Navy saw two groups of Russian Naval Vessels close to its waters in the English Channel.<\/p>\n

Moscow has increased its naval movement in the Pacific, Atlantic and other water bodies around Europe, mainly the Baltic, Mediterranean and the North Seas.<\/p>\n

The Royal Navy deployed warships to shadow the Russian ships, one group on its way to the Atlantic Ocean and the other to the Baltic Sea.<\/p>\n

The U.K Ministry of Defence said this was the second instance in 3 months when a Russian military jet and naval ships were spotted close to their airspace and territorial waters.<\/p>\n

The development comes days after the U.K imposed new sanctions against Moscow\u2019s industrial complex and mercenary groups. The 56 sanctions comprise the biggest sanction package since 2023.<\/p>\n

Per the U.K, these new sanctions would prevent important war supplies from reaching Russia, used to fuel Putin\u2019s war machine in Ukraine and would also expose the corrupt activities of the Russian proxy groups in Africa.<\/p>\n

UK\u2019s Foreign Secretary David Lammy said that these sanctions would cripple the corrosive foreign policy of Russia and smash Russia\u2019s illegal networks around the globe.<\/p>\n

In September, the U.K became the first NATO member to initiate the procedure so Ukraine could use its cruise missiles in Russian territory.<\/p>\n
