Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President & CEO: Takeshi Hashimoto) announced that the Japan Federation of Pilots\u2019 Associations (JFPA) has presented its Best Quality Ship Award for fiscal year 2024 to an MOL-operated vessel-the car carrier ORCA ACE.<\/p>\n

The award was founded in 2003 to raise awareness of port and ocean environmental protection through safe operation of vessels and is presented to \u201cexcellent vessels from the viewpoint of pilots,\u201d as selected by the JFPA.<\/p>\n

For the FY2024 awards, nine vessels, including the ORCA ACE, were selected from among those requesting pilot operations at pilotage districts throughout Japan. To date, numerous vessels related to MOL have received this award.<\/p>\n

For FY2024, the JFPA conducted a comprehensive evaluation to assess efforts to properly maintain nautical equipment and boarding equipment, implement safety measures, and establish a cooperative system among mariners, including captains, for pilots who guide the vessels.<\/p>\n

The results of this evaluation led to the selection of the winning ships.<\/p>\n
